Great spot! Great food, very friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
Really solid. Jerk wings are ridiculous. I had the rib special, which were perfect, and endemic being simply a "vehicle" to host the absolutely amazing jerk sauce. Others in the party had jerk pizza (excellent) pork chop (unique cut, but very good) and jerk chicken. Key lime pie for dessert. Also very good. Also have local Delano brewed Elysian Beer on tap. Really some of the best food I've had. We will be back.
We shared a rack of ribs - very delicious!
Food was very good, service excellent, people were wonderful!
Great outdoor seating area, service and food!
We were delighted to find this place while visiting a friend in town! Delicious authentic Jamaican cuisine with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. This will become a destination when I'm in the area again.
Honestly better than any Jamaican food I've had before, even in Jamaica! Great vibe, fun atmosphere, wonderful food, friendly staff! I can't say enough good things! Will be back for sure! Great work, Chef Montague!
You simply cannot find kinder, more happy, nor delightful people than those at Montague's, and the food! Don't even get me started. The pulled pork, the wings, the plantains...bless you!
Highly recommend. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Very well kept place, we ordered pizza and jerk chicken wings, can't wait to come back and try some of the more authentic Jamaican options.
Brick oven pizza with live music and cold beer, very nice.
Solid place out west. Jerk wings and pizza are ridiculous. Curried anything is great. Ken is a great guy and is always there to greet everyone and check in on patrons. Give it a try and you'll be back.
Truly impressed. Who thought you would find a Jamaican restaurant in a little town like Loretto, MN? Excellent service with a friendly atmosphere. Great food and beverage selections. A comfortable outdoor patio, too.
Had the pulled pork entree. Jerk pork was complex, smoky and just enough heat to be tasty. Plantains had a nice caramelized crust and lovely flavor. Red beans and rice were a nice foil to the pork. But the surprise of the plate was the Jamaican cabbage...I barely like cabbage and this was delicious...sauteed in a slightly sweet sauce just tendercrisp. Can't wait to try the other dishes, but it will be hard not to order a winning item like again this too!
Absolutely loved it! Wasn't sure what to expect having spent time in Jamaica and loving jerk spice, but they did an excellent job with everything! Service was excellent, food was excellent, abd the atmosphere was excellent. Thank you for a great evening!
Everything about montagues is wonderful. The only thing I wish they would have done Different is, I wish they cut up fresh jalapenos rather than 1 or 2 day old karma. Doesn't really matter they still had the same effect.
A delightful find on an early Spring afternoon in a sleepy small town of Loretto, MN. The mojito was as refreshing as our vivacious waitress, Tish. The food was awesome and tasty. The slow-smoked Jamaican ribs meat fell off the bones, pull jerk pork was juicy, and the jerk wings was tasty with the jerk sauce. The Caribbean cabbage was flavorful. The coconut curry chicken was creamy and tender. The fried plantain is one of the best I have ever tasted.... perfectly ripe and sweet. The light custardy key lime pie provided a perfect finish to the meal. Will definitely return to check out other items on the menu.
Great place! Good food and service with a wonderfully relaxed ambiance. We can't wait to go again!
Great fresh food for a good price. The patio is nice and relaxing and the indoor dining is just as nice. There is something for everyone.
Was our first time to the place, and I have to say the bio I read on the chef was spot on, the food was super good, the drinks were great and different from the typical standard same old same old. They chef went around to all the tables and made sure we were happy with our choices and would answer any questions if we had them. They also had a lot of Gluten Free Options that were standard on the menu so it make it easy for my wife. The prices were not bad, I would say middle of the road and the staff were super friendly.
Great food, great staff.
My wife and I went today for the first time. It wasn't very busy at the time so it was nice not feeling crowded. We each had the Caribbean burger and a beverage that I don't remember the name of. It was incredibly good. It was the best burger I have ever had. They have a great signature jerk sauce. We had a great time. The service was really good even though they were understaffed. We are definitely going back.
Was a nice establishment. My one time going was not perfect but the staff was friendly and all places serve a bad meal on occasion. From the other reviews the locals loved the place. Sad to see it go
The food was amazing! We had no problems with the service and loved all the food. My husband said it would be his new go to restaurant if we didn't live four hours away!
AMAZING Jamaican food. By far my favorite restaurant the Sunday brunch is also amazing! Beautiful patio and friendly staff!
Went there tonight with 6 other people from work. We had the jerk wings appetizers and several different entrees. Consensus was that the food was amazing! I tried the snappers and another shared a taste of his curried coconut shrimp. Wonderful! A great experience! Will be going back!Another happy customer!
Love this place!!! It has amazing food! And the owner is a very pleasant!
Wait staff Jodi was awesome and informative. Service was fast, polite and hot. Food was good for our first Jamaican food. I had the akee and my husband had the coconut curry shrimp. We were both pleased with our meals, jerk wings and key lime pie.
The whole family loves this place. Chicken, Pizza, Snapper, Curry...No matter what we order, it's outstanding. We've never had such delicious caramelized plantains, anywhere. And the staff is amazingly friendly & accommodating.
Don't let the location mislead you! Even if you don't live nearby (like me) this is definitely worth a visit. After hearing positive reviews from family members we recently visited to check our their Sunday Brunch which has a nice variety of Caribbean and American options. The jerk wings and pork were excellent. The staff and service was excellent. If you have never been here before, the brunch would give you a nice opportunity to sample their menu. I will be back soon to check out the rest of their menu!
Excellent place! Nice upscale vibe and very friendly service. The jerk chicken wings are to die for!
What a delightful and fresh experience. One of the better restaurants I've visited in a while
A surprising find, but I'm glad it was found. Highly recommended, the food is so full of flavor.I have been for brunch, and I have this suggestion: skip the pancakes and scrambled eggs. Go for the Jerk Chicken and Pork. Grab some patties. The plantains are excellent. With the jerked meats, grab some of the jerk sauce. It really adds flavor.
First off the tap beer was nice and cold! Great happy hour specials. The Jerk wings were awesome! We had a burger and chicken sandwich and both were very good. The fries are very good and homemade chips were tasty. Owner Ken came around to check on us and thank us for coming in. We had s great experience. We will be back!
The best Jamaican food I have had outside of the island. Had the buffet on Sunday. I offers a good selection. Nothing was spicy, had to add sauce to get things heated up. Probably a good thing for the average Minnesotan.
Casual yet upscale feel. Great food in a Jamaican themed restaurant. Give them a try for something unique.
Great Caribbean style food and atmosphere. Good prices too.
Had a great time at Montague's Kitchen. My first visit there coincided with the performance of a reggae band out of Chi-Town. The band was great! The atmosphere was great! The fiod was great (I had oxtail with rice 'n peas). I'm def going back!
Everything we've had has been tasty! A very nice alternative to typical bar food. The Kingston Shrimp Tacos, Jerk Chicken Sandwich, Curry Chicken or Curry Shrimp are all worth ordering. The only suggestion to management would be to dim the lights for the evening service.
Hair in the food. I had the chicken jerk sandwich. Had two hairs in it.My girlfriend had the salmon Cesar. Hair in it also.Gross.Told the waitress .Showed the waitress. She was argumentative like she didn't believe us.Never ever ever again.
Great food and great staff!! Can't wait to go back!
Stopped for happy hour and after a couple of drinks, decided to have dinner. Restaurant was fairly empty and all the food coming out of the kitchen was pizza. We thought that was odd considering it is primarily a Jamaican restaurant. I ordered the oxtail entree and a jerk chicken taco appetizer to share. When the food was served, the tacos had little to no jerk flavor. The oxtail was extremely dissapointed, as there was little to no meat on the bone. This dish should be hearty and filling, but felt like it came out of a Hardee's fast food restaurant. We live locally and support the local businesses, but would not eat here again, unless the kids want pizza...... Apparently it must be very good Jamaican pizza.
Jamaican? In Loretto? Yep. Jerk seasoned meat in various forms pair well with the slaws and plantains. Enjoyed our lunch.
Comfortable, clean, new. Cool inside on hot days, or outside patio with tables if you like that better. Even the restrooms are gorgeous. Soft raggae music playing. A bit of a drive out Hwy 55, a couple miles west of Plymouth, but worth it.
I was treated out to Montague's for my birthday lunch this afternoon, and was very impressed. The food was delicious. Far exceeded my expectations. I had the salmon with mango salsa, veggies and sweet potato fries. Will definitely recommend and be back.
The ribs are amazing. The full rack is HUGE! KEY LIME PIE homemade onsite is to die for.
Amazing food, wow....just wow. Came here blind and wasn't disappointed at all. Highly recommended, the drive is definitely worth it.
Been here a few times now since we live only a few blocks away. I think the service and atmosphere is great! As far as food, the proteins are always delicious but I've been less than impressed with the sides. My baked potato was hard and cold and the veggies were bland. To me, the prices are high for what you get, and we paid a $10 cover for a band that started a half hour late. Overall a decent experience for small town Loretto, just wish the prices were a little lower and the sides were a little better quality. Loved the band once they got going though!
Great food. Very authentic Jamaican. A bit off the beaten path from the west metro, but definitely worth the trip.
Amazing food. Best plantains I've ever had! I'll be back soon!!
